The letter E

In this lesson, we learn about the letter E and its different sounds through simple and fun examples. We will learn how the letter E can sound like a short “e” in words like egg and elephant, like a long “eee” in words such as Easter, eat, tree, and sheep, and also like the soft “ə” sound in words like earth, learn, garden, and teacher. We will also learn that the letter E at the end of some words can be silent, as in cake, bike, and home. Through this lesson, children learn that one letter can have many different sounds in the English language.
